Pricing
The World Wide Web is a place where all businesses and individuals
can and should advertise to bring in not only local business, but worldwide
business as well. Dawning Designs specializes in creating web websites
for small businesses and caters to each client on an individual
basis. By discussing your needs and expectations, an affordable price
quote can be developed to meet the your budget.
Below is a list of all the steps involved in designing and developing
a website, beginning with the birth of an idea, continuing on through
to the launch of the website and moving into the website maintenance.
In between each step, the client is afforded the opportunity to review
the progress and request revisions.
Budget
The client advises the webmaster of the needs, wants and expectations
of the website to be created, edited or redesigned and a price quote
is agreed upon.
Contract
Once the client agrees on a price quote provided by the webmaster,
a budget is agreed upon, a draft contract is written up by the webmaster.
Two copies of the contract are provided for the client; one copy is
for the client's records and the other copy is to be signed and returned
for the webmaster's records.
Meet & Greet, Revise & Finalize
The webmaster and client meet in person or by phone to discuss the
details of the website. (i.e. domain name, domain host, target audience,
colors, fonts, navigation, layout.) Once all the details are agreed
upon, the contract is revised. Two copies of the contract are provided
for the client; one copy is for the client's records and the other copy
is to be signed and returned for the webmaster's records.
Domain name registration (when needed)
The domain name is the name of the website (i.e. www.mybusiness.com).
If the Client has no already registered a domain name, a name must be
chosen. After the Client has chosen a domain name, the Webmaster will
ensure that it is available. The domain name will then be registered
with 1cheapdomains.com (see rate sheet). The reason why all domain names
must be registered is because there can be no duplicate names with the
World Wide Web.
Host registration (when needed)
(Host = storage location of your website files)
The Host is the company that has the computer hardware in which all
the Client's website files are stored. If the Client does not yet have
a host, the Webmaster will register the Client with ValueWeb (see rate
sheet).
Static graphic design layout of home page and sub-pages
Two or three static (unanimated) graphic designs are created in order
to allow the Client to choose a design and its features (color, graphics,
text, architecture, etc.).
Programming of pages
Pages are programmed with HTML to produce a working website. This enables
the Client to review functionalities such as "mouse-overs",
links, and any other animation that may have been implemented.
Search engine optimization
Search engine optimization is vital to the site's traffic. The search
engines allow users to find your site quickly and easily. The website
will be prepared for search engine placement/ranking by utilizing Meta
Tags (title, keywords, description).
Launch
The big day has come. The website will be launched and the Client's
business will now be a part of the World Wide Web.
Search engine submission
Search engine submission is vital to the site's traffic. The search
engines allow users to find your site quickly and easily. The website
will be submitted to search engines so people will be able to find the
website. After all, what good is a website if no one can find it?
